Yellow Tail Wineries from

Live Sheep Herding Demo
Carolyn Wilki from Raspberry Ridge
Sheep Farm in Bangor PA
will be
here to narrate and explain this event.
At various dates yearly, all breed “Herding Instinct Tests” are held at
Raspberry
Ridge Farm to access the
herding behaviors lying dormant in pet dogs who probably have never seen a sheep
before !
“On many weekends, we offer clinics in sheep herding or dog
behavior and training. When we train dogs at the farm, regardless of what we are
teaching, we use ‘positive
reinforcement’ behavioral techniques because they work most quickly, most
humanely and most effectively on the dog.
By contrast, it is usually much harder to train the person than the dog!”

Our
wines, as a style, are intentionally different from other Australian wines. At
every level and within every varietal our wines need to be supportive and
complementary to a variety of foods. Our winemakers cannot forget that wines
need to be ‘food friendly’ and have an appreciation of what people seek and then
be able to deliver !
The ‘namesake’ of the brand
is the Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby, a relative of the Kangaroo and an endangered
species !
Yellow Tail is a new wine brand and was a chance for the Casella Family,
originally from Italy, to enter the bottled wine market having previously
supplied bulk wine to other wineries and became the #1 imported wine to the USA
in 2003. This winery has expanded it’s size 10 times and has the capacity to
have 300 hundred million liters on site with more wine produced & stored
elsewhere.
