The “Pacific Rim’ refers to places around the edge of the Pacific
Ocean and
the term ‘Pacific Basin’ includes all the islands in the Pacific
Ocean !
Years ago, (how many ? ‘the early eighties’) I was working for a
Fortune50s Corporation and having lunch in the corporate cafeteria
with a fellow
who was part of a construction gang erecting a building on the 350
acre site. He was from Washington State and said that the South
Eastern part of
his state was once a desert but with irrigation was turning into a
wine
growing area with many new plantings .. He thought that they were
crazy !
“Lo & Behold”, here it is just 30 years later ………….
