As there were 7 million
folks attending the ‘World’s Largest Fest’
last year,
also consumed were 90,000 liters of Wine !
Germany produces wines in many styles:
semi-sweet, sweet white wines,
rose wines, red wines and sparkling wines and due to the northerly
location
of German vineyards, the country has produced wines quite unlike any
others in Europe, many of outstanding quality !
The white wines and some of the
finest from the Riesling grape with many
being sweet and low in alcohol, light in color and ‘unoaked’
Dark red wine has always been difficult to produce in the German
climate,
but recently there has been an increased demand for darker, richer
red wines – example: Spatburgunder = German Pinot Noir.
