but First a word about our special guests:
Over
the years, we’ve been asked repeatedly ..
“Is this place haunted”? and “have we ever felt the presence of any spirits
of past lives in here”?
We
have not and figured that if there were ghosts, of any kind, they’re
probably friendly and don’t make their prescience known !
After
all, after 260 years anything is possible …
Our guests today are : Cathy Bonjukian &
Myqui Patten from –
‘The Spirit
Society of North Jersey’
“Spirit Society of
North Jersey was started as a way to integrate
personal paranormal
experiences with others yielding a community of paranormal resources and
documentation. We help people who have hauntings and help grounded spirits
find their way into the light.”
[Should prove to be
very interesting]

What is Comfort Food anyway ?
From 1945 to about 1960, this country was in
Rebuilding Mode!
Many of our
young men never returned home, our resources and capital were depleted and
our industries had to be re-tooled for domestic production. I remember when
our parents worked a ‘scotch week’ .. 5 day work schedule but you got paid
for ‘4’ days but Everyone, say, in a plant of 350 employees,
Had a Job !
It was a different World then … wasn’t it ?
We would visit our friends,
occasionally for Sunday diner, down the cellar with a 4’ x 8’ sheet of
plywood fitted with legs from an old dining room table and a bed sheet for a
table cloth. Every ethnic group had dishes, mainly from the ‘old country’
that would feed families of any size and they were all great !
Carol’s been
grouping things like: Meatloaf, Pot Roast, Lasagna, Sauerbraten, Stuffed
Cabbage, Hungarian Beef & Noodles, Chicken & Vegetables in thick gravy ..
and many more but right up there is a dessert that you’ll all recognize but
rarely see !
