Concha Y Toro wines
from Chile !
Chilean vineyards
were first established in the mid-sixteenth century by Spanish missionaries
who planted a grape known as “pais” and for the next 300 years was Chile’s
primary grape. In 1851 French Wine experts arrived and were followed by
cuttings of : Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot
Noir, Semillon & Sauvignon Blanc. Most of the growing areas are dry and do
not have rains that would spoil the harvest but do have plenty of water from
the melting snows of the Andes mountains !
