The “Craft Beer Movement”
has come back in this Country to
such a degree that the ‘Big Three’ - Budweiser, Coors & Miller have felt the
loss of Market Share for their products! Take Yuengling for example;
Budweiser was their distributor and Yuengling accounted for less than 5% of
Bud’s Eastern operation but had tremendous potential. Budweiser approached
Yuengling with a ‘blank’ check saying that they would like to buy the
brewery.
Yuengling replied that it was not for sale because that is what he did ..
brew beer and now his kids and grand kids were involved with his business.
The ‘Big Three’ have to settle for a small ‘piece of the pie’ rather than
none by providing good distributorship which is just what a small craft
brewer needs!
