Champagnes / Sparklings are being produced World Wide using the exact grape and production process as in France.
Since the French are credited with the inception of Champagnes any ‘sparkling’ not produced, in it’s entirety, in the Champagne district of France is not considered Champagne (by the French) according to the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 after WWI.
For hundreds of years Port Wine was only available from Portugal but in the latter part of the 20th Century
many ‘Ports’ were being produced in all parts of the World .. mainly South Africa, Australia, USA, South America, Europe and even some parts of Asia.
