Ian Patterson and his bride Helen were married at Blair Academy on August 10th. The wedding was outside and performed by Blair’s Chaplin at the ‘Arch’ in perfect weather.

The two met in Japan while they were teaching “Conversational English” to Japanese

Middle School Students in the North Country. Helen is from Northwood, UK and they

will be living in Brighton, UK for a year or two before returning to the US. Ian is a great

addition to our wait staff – we will miss him greatly.

 

“Well, it happened !” our softball team – “The Roaring Rockers” won the ‘over 35 league

championship’ in the Washington Recreation League. These players have been together

for 25 years and are all from this area. Their ‘Giant’ trophy is in our lobby - CONGRADS !

 

Sunday, September 8th “Fetzer Vineyards from California will be here … Fetzer is the

6th Largest Winery in the US and their products are very ‘user friendly’. Known for their

organic growing methods as well as hosting some of the best ‘partys’ in California

proves that this will be a great event – the food menu is outstanding for this pairing !

 

Late Night begins here on Saturday, September 14th from 9:00 PM to 12:00 Midnight

with the kitchen remaining open ‘till 12:00 Midnight !  Donna Antonow and her Trio will

be here and this Jazz Vocalist & Piano Player is not to be missed – Amazon.com has

her CD’s.  Friday, September 20th Walt Bibinger & his Trio will perform and is one of the

greatest guitarists you’ll ever hear. Saturday, September 21st Donna Antonow returns !

The baby grand piano now has a ‘humidifier/de-humidifier’ attached underneath. This

Musical instrument and piece of furniture has to be maintained at a constant average

moisture of about 45%. This allows the piano keep a minimal expansion / contraction

of wood and metal and makes tuning less frequent and will prolong the ‘life’ of the      instrument. This was suggested by musicians and piano re-builder John Brower who did the installation.
