June News Letter

Well, we’re starting to see some consistent seasonal warm weather .. finally, which means that the patio will be set up ‘right on schedule’ – so, look for the umbrellas !

The “Munchie Menu” is being expanded to include : Carol’s Chili, Devils on Horseback (from England) & The Roaring Rock House Salad to name but a few. It will be available in the bar & on the patio as usual.

The Sunday Jazz Brunches on the 9th & 23rd will feature Donna Antonow (jazz pianist & vocalist) first – then Frank Giasullo (jazz pianist extraordinaire) on the 23rd.

Kim Moore, our senior server, has been coaching Little League Softball at the White Township fields on Rt. 519 North of Rt. 46 & that’s why you don’t see her on Friday Nights. This takes a tremendous amount of ‘donated time’ to work & ‘be there’ for these kids – Nice Goin’ Kim !!

And …. Speaking about softball …. Yes, it’s true, Chef Carol is sponsoring a team at the Meadow Breeze Fields in Washington Township !  When they come here after a game, win or lose, she always asks .. “Did anyone hurt themselves?”   (it’s the ‘over 40 league’)

Now here’s a situation that no one knows about … The folks that own & produce the motorcycle magazine, “Backroads” are Brian Rathjen & Shira Kamil have ‘come into’ an interesting situation. They have had shipped to them a motorcycle that was being restored by a fireman killed in the 911 attack on the World Trade Center buildings.

They are having his bike fully restored and when the motorcycle community found out about this situation the donations that were made available to them from suppliers & ordinary citizens was beyond anything imaginable. The goal is to completely restore this bike, have it painted with this firefighter’s “colors” from his station & have his badge & number on the gas tank sides ……. Then his bike will be auctioned off on E-Bay & this is the part that we really like .. “Brian & Shira will walk up to his widow’s front door & hand the check to her !”  This is what it’s all really about.

Neighbor Bob has been splitting the piles of logs at the far-end of this property in anticipation of our fireplaces’s needs for the up-coming Fall & Winter.

The English Surprise at the front entrance is in the final stages of completion … so look for it sometime at the end of June (this year).
