Among her many Cuisine
adventures, none left more of an impression than her private studies with
Anne Willan in N.Y.C. during the early 1980s.
Anne Willan was the
founder and president of the “Ecole de Cuisine la Varenne in Paris”
and
author of ‘La Varenne
Pratique’
a book that is practical and comprehensive and demands a place in the
kitchen of every serious chef. She was also an associate editor for Gourmet
Magazine and has written a syndicated column for the Washington Post.
With this very busy
society, of which we all share, that for the most part takes 2 incomes to
‘make ends meet’ these days .. What should you always have in your homes to
put together for dinner in the least amount of time ? What frozen food items
should you have .. What basic tools ?..
What simple sauces can
be done quickly that are tasty for salads and main dishes ?.. How do you
keep a
rounded bottom mixing bowl from moving all over the counter ?We tell folks
to heat our mushroom soup and your favorite pasta .. mix together and
sprinkle with some grated cheese and a green salad and you have a dinner
that could feed an entire family and did through the ‘depression’ of the 20s
& 30s and still can !
Got a crock pot ?
She’ll show you how to make the best tender pot roast and gravy you ever
had. Cooking with a crock pot is like cooking with a light bulb (very safe,
put the crock pot in the sink and go off to work with nothing to worry about
!)
